Joseph Rudyard Kipling


(1865-1936) Joseph Rudyard Kipling, was an Indian-born English short-story writer, poet and novelist. He is best known for his stories for children such as 'The Jungle Book' and his poems, including 'Mandalay' and 'Gunga Din'.


Gustav Klimt

Robert Koch


(1843-1910) Robert Koch was a German bacteriologist. He developed an anthrax vaccine and isolated several disease-causing bacteria, including the tubercle and cholera bacilli. In 1905 he was awarded Nobel prize in Physiology or Medicine for his work on tuberculosis.
